I’m making a mandala-inspired thingamabob for my art class, using india ink and a nice pen with a nib and everything, but I sort of forgot how imprecise my hands can be. also how long it takes to draw like this.
I am so happy right now, because for my art seminar I was given my own little studio space in the basement of the art building. Everyone else shares larger rooms but I was lucky/fast enough to snag the only available individual space so I completely took it over.
All of last term I wanted a studio of my own, mostly so I could sleep without walking back to south campus, and now that I have one I really don’t have all that much work…oh well.
Here’s my space and my inspiration wall. I’ll post what I’m working on just as soon as it’s done with pen, the pencil isn’t really showing up on camera. Also, yessss my desk is a sink with a piece of wood over it.
I made this for The Kenyon Thrill! Now nobody has any excuse for putting cans in the trash.
edit: had to update it cause pizza boxes aren’t recyclable…sorry, kenyon!
When I woke up yesterday, it was cloudy and cold, but there was no snow until after I came home from my first class at 11am. This is Old Kenyon, taken from the steps of Hanna. The first picture was taken yesterday at noon, the second at 2:30, and the third this morning at 10. It’s not a lot of snow, but it’s the first actual snowfall I’ve seen this season, so it’s still pretty awesome.
back in new york, there was a man on the subway with a surfboard with a silver cover. but. a surfboard. on the subway. in january.
